story
"Good Food is all about taste and memory" is what Abishek, our head chef and co-owner, always tries to tell through every dish cooked at We Idliwale, A third-culture cuisine restaurant he and Chirag started in 2019.
We Idliwale started operating in August of 2019 in Baner, offering a simple south Indian menu and Idli with chicken, a recipe from Kundapur, a place close to his heart.
Kundapur is a charming little town located in the coastal district of Karnataka, India. The place is famous for its gorgeous beaches, beautiful architecture, and traditional art forms like Yakshagana and Huli Vesha.

Abishek, as a kid, has fond memories of his attaya cooking this recipe. He would come running to the kitchen to taste it, and She would pick him up and put him on the otha (kitchen counter), and he would help cook.
These little events had a significant impact on him growing up and
Now, he wants to bring the flavors of South Indian cuisine to people using proper cooking techniques.
